I had so many books without value on the floor in the living room, so I decided to make some use of them, creating a decorative garland for our front door!
The making is quite easy: you need only some cardboard, the old book that you don’t mind sacrificing, hot glue gun and of course the hot glue round bars, and some patience.
First, let’s get a book from that pile in the corner…

Rip off from the book as many pages as possible, you are going to need a lot of them… Then, prepare the base of the garland, cutting a round shape from the cardboard and making a round hole in the middle, just like a wheel. the dimension of the cardboard wheel will determine the quantity of pages you’ll need, so do not make it too big if the book has not so many pages!
Now comes the fun part: take one hot glue tube, and roll the pages of the book over it, so to create long tubes, all the same dimension.

Roll the page tight, but not too much: you still need to remove the hot glue tube:

Try with the tips of the hand to squeeze the center of the tubes and bend them in half. Apply a small drop of hot glue to fix it, but only on the bending point.

When the hot glue has dried, decide which side will be glued on the cardboard wheel, and apply a small drop of hot glue:

Arrange the paper tubes in a circular fashion, starting from the outer side of the cardboard wheel:

Continue arranging the paper tubes to the cardboard wheel, so to arrive to the inner wheel diameter:

Now we can do the finishing parts… cut the paper tubes in 3 pieces each, and apply them to the center of the cardboard wheel creating a wall that will cover to the sight the cardboard itself and the lower part of the inner tubes:

The final effect of the paper tubes is quite nice, actually. It looks like a circular ocean coral structure!

The completed Paper tube garland is now complete and ready to be hanged on the wall or on the door, like I did!
